Lee joined the team at Animal Eye Care of New England in 2018. She began her journey in Veterinary Medicine as a high school student in 1996, while working for a local Veterinary hospital in NH. After graduating from Stonehill College with a BS in biology, Lee began working for a small and large animal Veterinary Hospital on the Cape as well as time at Grazing Fields Farm, a hunter/jumper barn. Her love for horses was always there, but her passion for them grew quickly working at the barn and soon she was packing up to travel and be a full time horse show groom. Her move to western Massachusetts 3 years later brought her back into Veterinary Medicine, and her start into Specialty medicine with a focus on orthopedic surgery, anesthesia and pain management. She received her CVT in 2006.
Lee and her spouse have always had a home full of dogs, cats, fish, reptiles as well as pocket pets and even a horse (which was one of the horses that she cared for during her time at the horse show barn). But her heart and soul is with her cats. Her connection to the feline world really took hold after her own cat “Chicken” began to have significant medical issues. Her ability to “listen” to Chicken as well as her time reading medical journals in an effort to educate herself on how to best help and care for Chicken, developed into an incredibly deep bond with her and helped Chicken to thrive for 20 yrs. Her love for older cats and cats with disabilities has only grown since then. She is commonly referred to as “the cat whisperer” by her coworkers and many clients.
Outside of work, Lee is most comfortable in nature and being at home with her family.
