Masks will now be optional!
Masks will now be optional!

Masks and curbside service will still be available upon request.

If you are not feeling well or have been exposed to someone that is sick, we ask that you wear a mask or opt for curbside service.

Please continue to give us a call when you arrive to check in for your appointment. We will give you the option to wait for your appointment outside or in the lobby. We have found this system works well to prevent the lobby from becoming too congested which can help relieve some stress for many pets.

We look forward to seeing everyone's smiling faces again!

PLEASE NOTE: While you have the option of waiting for your appointment outside or in your vehicle, now that the weather is warming up, there are certain instances we ask that you bring your pet inside to wait. Brachycephalic (short-nosed) pets, pets with cardiac or respiratory conditions, or double coated breeds, are at a higher risk of heatstroke and health complications from the heat and/or humidity. Please always bring these pets inside our air conditioned lobby to wait for their appointment

Retractable Leashes No Longer Allowed

Effective immediately, we no longer allow retractable leashes while inside the building.
To Our Clients:

Effective Immediately, we no longer allow retractable leashes while inside the building. Retractable leashes are not ideal for safe and effective leash handling. If you do not have a regular leash, we have them available for use while you are here for your visit.

Also, a visit to the vet can be a vary scary and stressful experience for many pets. For the safety and well-being of all animals and humans in our hospital, please be mindful of the following:

All dogs must be on a regular leash. All cats and small animals must be in a carrier.

We have a spacious lobby with dog-friendly and cat-friendly waiting areas. Whenever possible, please try to wait in the appropriate area.

Cat owners: Our benches are large enough for your carrier to help keep them off the ground. Cats feel safer when they are higher up.

Dog owners: Please keep your dog close to you at all times. Do not allow your dog to wander. Do not allow your dog to approach other animals or humans.

We have found that it can be less stressful for some pets to wait for their exam in their vehicle or outside during nice weather. If your pet is reactive to other animals or humans or your pet is very anxious, you are welcome to wait in your vehicle until we are ready to see you.

Our goal is for our patients and clients to have a comfortable and stress-free experience when they visit our hospital. We appreciate your understanding!

Expanding Treatment Options
Animal Eye Care of New England is pleased to announce that we are now able to offer corneal cross linking as means to treating many corneal diseases, including corneal degeneration, bullous keratopathy, and melting corneal ulcers. This process uses UV light and collagen to strengthen the cornea, and has been used in human medicine for decades, but is only recently been introduced in veterinary applications. Our new Peschke PXL Velvet 345 was initially developed for treating keratoconus in humans, but the range of indications has been expanded to various corneal diseases in companion animals as well.

Continuing Education Plays a Key Role in Quality Veterinary Medicine
Licensed technicians Sara and Sam recently traveled to Albany, New York, to attend a lecture given by prominent veterinary anesthesiologist Dr. Andrea Looney, DACVAA, CCRP, DACVSMR. The talk focused on the latest updates and anesthesia protocols for brachycephalic breeds, such as Pugs, English Bulldogs, and Boston Terriers. These breeds are also often predisposed to eye issues that sometimes require surgical correction. Flatter faced pups have specific and special anesthesia requirements, and it's our goal to make any procedure as safe as possible!
